Although I lived in Washington for three years, I went back often to visit. I could show hundreds of photos of the District, but these are of a trip in 2018 and limited to just a few from that 3-day Thanksgiving trip.

I have many photos of the National Gallery of Art (1) and the National Portrait Gallery (2), but these are seasonal photos of the Rotunda (1) and the Atrium (2).

As you can tell, I took the 8-hour train ride from the new Raleigh station. Of course, it was crowded even though I went up on Thanksgiving Day and came back on Saturday. I also have driven it, but usually only when I have someone with me to break the monotony of a 5-hr. drive.

The District usually is less crowded during the holidays as people flee the city.
